The Schultz Family
Amy was raised in Amish country in southern Pennsylvania for elementary school and in the inner city of Denver, Colorado for junior high. She moved to rural Wisconsin for high school. Matt was raised here in Mora. Since we were married we have lived all over Minnesota, then in Lincoln, Nebraska and Arcadia, Wisconsin. We moved to Mora in April 2011 and have been married 13 years. We have five children, four boys and one girl. Our oldest is autistic and has had some medical issues since birth. Amy enjoys scrapbooking, computers, teaching kids, hiking, golfing, running (albeit slow), and traveling. She is passionate about sharing God’s love with others. Amy worked as a computer software developer for 10 years before staying home with our kids full-time. Matt enjoys hunting, golfing, fishing, traveling, saltwater aquariums, and practicing medicine. He has wanted to be a rural family medicine doctor his whole life and really enjoys helping his patients and learning new things.
Matt has been best friends with Tim Reynolds since kindergarten so we have known about Trio for a long time, before we even had an inkling we would ever move to Mora. When Matt was interviewing in Mora, we attended a church service and loved it. So when we moved to town we began coming regularly and we are VERY thankful for the opportunity to worship in a church that feels so comfortable to us.
God teaches us something new on a daily or weekly basis. The things He has taught Amy recently are to trust Him with every situation in her life and to listen to Him when He is nudging her. God has been teaching Matt to grow where he is planted. God puts us in different situations and relationships and it is our job to grow where He has planted us by doing His work regardless of our circumstance. God has also been teaching Matt to be Kingdom -minded in that it is not about an individual church or ministry, but about supporting the Church in its entirety. Perhaps this is why Trio Church is comfortable to us and a natural fit to allow us to jump in and serve Christ where we can be best used by Him.
